A friendly match between the team of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the office of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) took place on the Juventus Academy football field in Dushanbe.
According to the organizers, the goal of the match was to strengthen friendly ties between international organizations and promote a healthy lifestyle among their employees.
The match was officially opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Tajikistan, Walid bin Abdulrahman Ar-Reshaidon, and the Director of the UN World Food Programme office in the Republic, Adham Musallam.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps, staff of international organizations, journalists, and fans were present in the stands. The atmosphere of the meeting was marked by a spirit of mutual respect and sporting rivalry.
"Such initiatives contribute to the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between countries and organizations," noted Saudi Arabian Ambassador Walid bin Abdulrahman Ar-Reshaidon in his address. Meanwhile, Adham Musallam, head of the WFP Tajikistan office, emphasized that such events help unite efforts to promote the values of friendship and a healthy lifestyle.
The result of the meeting was a confident victory for the team of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia with a score of 3:1.
