On August 14, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting on "Combating Corruption in Education and Science: Problems, Prospects, and Solutions." The event was initiated by the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan, according to the Agency's press center.
The meeting was attended by the leadership and heads of departments and divisions of the central office of the Ministry of Education and Science, rectors of higher education institutions, responsible officials of subordinate structures, as well as heads of departments and divisions of education of cities and districts of the republic, held online.
Agency representatives presented reports on current corruption cases in education and science, measures to prevent them, and the consequences of bribery and other corrupt practices. They provided a detailed explanation of legal requirements, as well as state anti-corruption programs and preventative measures for industry workers.
The event was held in an atmosphere of open discussion and anti-corruption sentiment. Following the meeting, participants emphasized the need to foster a zero-tolerance attitude toward corruption in the education sector and improve legal literacy among employees.
The Agency noted that such meetings contribute to strengthening transparency and accountability in Tajikistan's education system.
