An exhibition of agricultural and industrial products, folk crafts, and national dishes of Tajikistan was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on August 16-17. The event was organized at the request of President Emomali Rahmon, according to the press service of the Sughd Region Governor.
The ceremony was attended by Sughd Region Chairman Rajab Akhmadzoda and Astana Mayor Zhenis Kasymbek. They said the exhibition was a shining example of strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
The fair featured over 1,000 tons of produce, including dried fruits, vegetables, melons, traditional sweets, textiles, carpets, knives, and other goods. Leading enterprises from the Sughd region showcased canned goods, light industry products, and handicrafts.
Each city and district in the region presented 40 to 50 tons of produce. Visitors were particularly interested in the national dishes: women baked flatbreads, kulchas, and sambusas in traditional tents, and chefs prepared Tajik pilaf in ten large cauldrons.
The exhibition covered 4,500 square meters, featuring 50 trade stands. The centerpiece of the event was a display of fruits, vegetables, and national dishes.
Residents of Kazakhstan's capital eagerly explored the products, noting their high quality and affordable prices. Participants emphasized that such fairs help supply the market with high-quality goods and strengthen friendship between peoples.
During the cultural portion of the program, Tajik artists presented concert and theatrical performances symbolizing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
According to the organizers, the exhibition became not only a platform for showcasing the achievements of Tajik manufacturers, but also a symbol of brotherhood and mutual respect between the peoples of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
