A group of motorcycle tourists from Pakistan is heading to Tajikistan as part of an initiative to develop cross-border tourism and strengthen cultural ties in the region, according to the Tajik Embassy in Islamabad.
The official farewell ceremony for the motorcycle caravan took place on August 1 in the Pakistani capital. The initiative is being implemented in accordance with agreements reached following Tajik President Emomali Rahmon's visit to Pakistan and covers a route through Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
As noted by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Pakistan, Saidjon Shafizoda, Dushanbe attaches great importance to the development of trade, economic, and tourism ties with Islamabad, as well as strengthening regional cooperation.
"Tajikistan is interested in strengthening its partnership with Pakistan, given its geostrategic position and influence in South Asia," he emphasized.
