The First International Economic Forum of Central Asia, organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan with the assistance of the Trade Council of Tajikistan and Russia, was held in Dushanbe. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic.
The forum, which was held with the participation of delegations from Central Asian states, representatives of international organizations, business circles and industry experts, was dedicated to issues of deepening regional economic cooperation, developing the digital economy and attracting foreign investment.
“In the context of global changes, the coordination of regional policies, the development of sustainable forms of interaction and the implementation of initiatives that promote ‘green’ growth and the digitalization of the economy are of paramount importance,” the ministry said in a statement.
The forum presented the potential of free economic zones, industrial and digital parks in Tajikistan. Participants discussed the development of industrial clusters, expansion of digital technology parks, and the use of digital platforms to integrate production processes.
During the event, five memorandums of cooperation were signed between the administrations of Tajikistan's free economic zones – Kulyab, Sogd, Dangara and Panj – and partner structures, including the Russian-Tajik Council of Entrepreneurs and the Navoi FEZ (Uzbekistan). The documents are aimed at expanding cooperation, implementing joint projects and strengthening business ties in the region.
Summing up the forum, the participants emphasized that the Central Asian countries demonstrate readiness for further economic integration. The role of Tajikistan under the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon in promoting practical initiatives aimed at strengthening regional partnership and sustainable development was especially noted.
