On May 20, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Secretary-General Feridun Sinirlioglu, according to the presidential press service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the OSCE.
"We consider it important to further develop our partnership with the OSCE," Emomali Rahmon emphasized at the beginning of the conversation.
The main focus of the talks was on issues of cooperation in three key areas of the organization's activities: the military-political, economic-environmental, and human dimensions.

The President of Tajikistan noted that the country is making efforts to ensure that programs and projects implemented in the country meet the real needs of the population. The work of the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and the OSCE Border Management Staff College was also commended.
Within the military-political dimension, the parties prioritized the continued implementation of projects to prevent cybercrime, combat drug trafficking, improve customs procedures, and exchange information.
Particular attention was paid to the quantity and quality of OSCE programmes and projects in the economic and environmental spheres, including in the areas of water and climate, green economy, especially green energy, and digital technologies.
The parties also discussed preparations for two international conferences—on global water issues and on combating terrorism and its financing—to be held in May and June of this year in Dushanbe and New York, respectively.

The meeting's key topics included expanding cooperation in the human dimension, taking into account Tajikistan's national priorities. Specifically, discussions focused on cooperation in the areas of human rights protection, improving the electoral system, ensuring gender equality, preventing domestic violence, combating human trafficking, developing youth policy, and strengthening the potential of the media.
In addition, a detailed exchange of views took place on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
In this regard, Emomali Rahmon once again emphasized Tajikistan’s unwavering position on the importance of using peaceful means to resolve all conflicts.
"I would like to reiterate that we consider negotiations and diplomacy to be the only effective means of strengthening the atmosphere of trust in international relations," the President of Tajikistan stated.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their commitment to continuing and strengthening constructive cooperation.
