On the night of Wednesday, November 28, the Russian army carried out strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against the cities of Kyiv and Odesa, according to local authorities and media reports.
In the Belgorod community of the Kyiv region, two people were killed as a result of a strike on a multi-story residential building. The head of the Kyiv Regional Civil-Military Administration (OVA), Mykola Kalashnik, confirmed the news. Authorities report that structural elements of the building were damaged, and rescue services continue to work at the scene.
A strike drone hit an Orthodox monastery in Odesa, causing a fire. Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Civil-Military Administration, reported that there were no casualties. Firefighters and emergency services are working on the scene to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
In Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, drone debris fell on a road, damaging the windows and roof of a residential building. Kyiv authorities reported that an air defense system was activated, repelling the attack. Security and damage assessment efforts are ongoing.
Additionally, on November 27, Russian forces launched a drone strike on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region near the village of Yazykove. At the time of the strike, the train, traveling from Chop to Kharkiv to Barvinkove, was carrying more than 200 people. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, two drones crashed near the train, and a third hit a car. This resulted in a fire. At least five passengers are reported dead. Emergency services and police continue to work at the scene to assist the injured and investigate the incident.
Thus, a series of strikes by the Russian army affected several regions of Ukraine at once, resulting in deaths, damage to residential buildings and infrastructure, and emergency services continue to work to eliminate the consequences of the attacks.
