On June 30, 2026, Tajikistan Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Brian Mast, Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and other congressional representatives in Washington, D.C., the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported .
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing relations between Tajikistan and the United States. Particular attention was paid to the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue and further expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
The meeting participants also discussed the role of the US Congress in strengthening bilateral cooperation in a number of priority areas. Specifically, they discussed cooperation in the areas of economics, trade and investment, security, energy, industry, education, and healthcare, as well as the implementation of joint programs and initiatives.
The parties also exchanged views on current issues of bilateral cooperation. Among the topics discussed were the repeal of the Jackson-Vanik Amendment for Tajikistan, as well as regional and international security issues.
