On June 10, 2026, the 12th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and India on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation was held via videoconference. The meeting was co-chaired by Nuriddinzoda Akhliddin Nuriddin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Rajesh Agrawal, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, during the meeting, the parties noted the dynamic development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. It was emphasized that, thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi, bilateral relations are steadily strengthening.
The meeting participants noted the important role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission as an effective mechanism for expanding trade and economic cooperation and developing practical ties between Tajikistan and India.



The discussions addressed issues of further expanding cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, agriculture and food security, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, energy, industry, digital technology and innovation, tourism, labor and social protection, transport, as well as the banking and insurance sectors.
The parties paid special attention to the development of industrial cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in the field of renewable energy, the digitalization of the economy, and the strengthening of business ties between the two countries.
Following the meeting, representatives of Tajikistan and India confirmed their readiness to implement the agreements reached and further develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
