On June 9–10, the head of the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan, Khabibullo Nazarzoda, participated in a meeting of the Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regions, which was held in Castellaneta, Italy.
The event was attended by ICAO leadership and representatives of the aviation authorities of the organization's member states. The meeting discussed issues related to aviation security, the implementation of ICAO international standards, and the development of regional and international cooperation in civil aviation.
Bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign aviation authorities were held on the sidelines of the event. During the talks, the parties discussed the launch of direct air service, increasing the number of flights, opening new international routes, attracting investment, and leveraging best practices in the aviation industry.
However, the department’s statement does not specify with which specific countries the meetings were held.
It is also noted that in January–February 2026, the International Civil Aviation Organization conducted a safety audit of Tajikistan's civil aviation sector. The inspection resulted in a positive assessment of the sector's performance.
The next aviation security audit is scheduled for November 2026.
