In Dushanbe, Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrohim, met with Holger Wiefel, Country Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Tajikistan; Harry Karandainos, the bank's Senior Specialist for Transport Development, Project Preparation and Implementation; and representatives of ETECON (Serbia) and Ecoline International Ltd (Bulgaria).
According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, during the negotiations, the parties discussed the implementation of a project to prepare a preliminary feasibility study for the creation of a logistics center at the Dusti border checkpoint, located in the city of Tursunzade.
During the first stage, project participants analyzed the organizational, legal, technical, and economic aspects of its implementation. Based on the results of this work, it will be possible to move on to subsequent stages of the project in the near future.
The parties also reviewed the current status of government investment projects in the road transport sector and discussed prospects for further bilateral cooperation in this area.
