Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China. This was reported by the Tajik presidential press service.
During the meeting, Emomali Rahmon called parliamentary diplomacy "one of the effective means of strengthening and expanding political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation."
"We support the fruitful continuation of interparliamentary relations in accordance with the common interests of the two countries," the head of state emphasized.
The parties also assessed the development and expansion of interparliamentary ties as a solid foundation for a comprehensive strategic partnership between Tajikistan and China in the new era.



Emomali Rahmon welcomed the establishment and commencement of the Tajikistan-China Interparliamentary Commission. The commission's first meeting took place in Beijing in November 2025.
During the talks, the parties discussed the exchange of experience in parliamentary activities, including improving legislation and adapting it to modern requirements.
In addition, issues of supporting innovation, the implementation of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, the transition to green energy and industry, as well as the development of cultural and humanitarian ties and other areas of mutual interest were discussed.
