Türkiye announced the development of its own intercontinental ballistic missile and unveiled it at an international exhibition, Bloomberg reports.
According to the publication, Ankara is taking another step toward becoming a country with intercontinental ballistic missiles. This missile, the Yıldırımhan, has a range of approximately 6,000 kilometers.
The missile is said to be capable of striking targets across most of Europe and the Middle East. Bloomberg emphasizes that only the United States, Russia, and a few other countries currently possess such weapons.
According to agency sources, tests of the Yildirimhan missile are planned to be conducted before the end of this year in Somalia.
In addition, Türkiye intends to use this rocket technology to launch reconnaissance satellites.
