A representative from Tajikistan participated in an international forum dedicated to the development of public-private partnerships, where the country's investment opportunities were presented. This was reported by the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management.
Deputy Chairman Muhammadzarif Sharifzoda spoke at the 10th Public-Private Partnership Forum in Barcelona on April 27–28. The event, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, brought together representatives of governments, international organizations, financial institutions, and the private sector.
Forum participants discussed the development of public-private partnership mechanisms, attracting investment, implementing infrastructure projects, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
This year, the key theme of the event was mobilizing partnerships to build sustainable infrastructure. The forum included plenary sessions, expert discussions, and presentations of projects aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Particular attention was paid to issues of climate resilience of infrastructure, the use of innovative financial instruments, including green bonds and blended finance, as well as the implementation of digital technologies and artificial intelligence at all stages of project implementation.
During the meetings and negotiations, the Tajik side presented information on the country's investment opportunities, ongoing reforms to improve the investment climate, and the development of public-private partnerships. Priority projects were also identified, including in the areas of renewable energy, infrastructure, and social services.
