Khatlon Region police officers detained nine individuals suspected of practicing witchcraft, fortune telling, and pseudo-healing. According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, such practices mislead citizens and are illegal.
Despite repeated warnings from police about the inadmissibility of turning to individuals who practice superstitious and deceptive methods of solving personal problems, there are still citizens who use the services of "fortune tellers," "sorcerers," and "healers."

As part of the ongoing fight against superstition and the identification of fraudsters, police conducted investigations in the city of Nurek and several districts of the Khatlon region, including Dusti, Balkhi, Khuroson, Yovon, and Temurmalik. Following these investigations, nine administrative violation reports were filed under Part 1 of Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan.

All materials were submitted to court, and each of the detained individuals was fined. The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that these measures are aimed at preventing illegal activities related to superstition and protecting citizens from fraudulent schemes.
