In Tajikistan, following engineering and geological surveys, 127 households and one secondary school received recommendations to relocate from hazardous areas to safer locations, the country's Ministry of Geology reports .
As part of this project, during the reporting period, engineering and geological surveys were conducted in 824 villages, towns, and settlements in the territories of cities and districts of the republic, including the Khatlon and Sughd regions.
As part of the "State Water Cadastre Maintenance" project, scheduled observations were conducted in 150 reservoirs and repeat observations were conducted in 206 reservoirs in the cities of Dushanbe, Tursunzoda, Hisor, Vahdat, Rogun, Bokhtar, Levakant, Kushoniyon, Shahritus, Qubodiyon, Mir Said Ali Hamadoni, Nosiri Khusrav, Farkhor, Panj, J. Balkhi, Vakhsh, Yovon, Fayzobod, Nurobod, Shahrinav, Dusti, Rasht, and Rudaki. As part of these observations, 64 water samples were collected for chemical analysis.
In the Syr and Zarafshan river basins, primary observations were carried out in 30 wells, repeat observations were carried out in 65 wells, scheduled observations in wells were carried out with 336 measurements, 207 water samples were sent for chemical analysis.
Under the project "Searching for underground water to provide water for healthcare, education, and social protection facilities in the republic," nine wells with a total depth of 760 meters have been drilled across the country.
In terms of occupational health and safety, unitary enterprises comply with established rules and safety requirements for geological exploration operations. No accidents or violations of occupational health and safety requirements or internal regulations were recorded during the reporting period.
As of December 31, 2025, the Main Directorate of Geology and its subordinate structures employed 583 people, including 47 civil servants, 106 managers, 234 specialists, and 243 blue-collar workers. Among these employees, 304 specialists have a higher education, 11 have an incomplete higher education, 121 have a secondary vocational education, and 147 have a secondary education.
There are 190 women working in the industry, 21 of whom hold management positions, 55 have higher education, 135 have incomplete higher education, secondary specialized education, secondary education, and incomplete secondary education.
On June 25–26, 2025, the Sadbarg Sanatorium of the Medical Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted the national competition (meeting) "Young Geologists," attended by 70 students from across the country. The competition, initiated by the Main Directorate of Geology, was dedicated to "2025 — the International Year of Glacier Conservation." Seven teams from various departments participated in the national competition.
In the first half of 2025, the State Institution "Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel" completed training for 45 people on a budgetary basis and 5 people on a contract basis in various specialties.
