An attempt to illegally export medicines worth approximately 1 billion soums from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan was prevented.
Border troops of the State Security Service , together with Uzbek customs officials, stopped the export of pharmaceuticals through the Farkhod border customs post in Bekabad. The medications were destined for the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the inspection, a Lochin motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old local resident was inspected. Medicines not listed in the customs declaration were found in the trailer among the food products and confiscated.

The drugs seized included Immunoglobulin, Ferritin, and others. In total, more than 20 different medications were seized. The estimated value of the shipment is 1.05 billion soums, equivalent to approximately $125,000.
Currently, an examination has been ordered for the seized medications, and an investigation is underway into this incident.
