The cost of performing the Hajj for Tajik citizens in 2026 has been reduced to 53,000 somoni. This was announced by Afshini Mukim, press secretary of the Committee for Religious Affairs, Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations, and Rituals under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to him, the indicated amount is 3.8 thousand somoni less than the previous year, when the cost of services during the Hajj season was 56.8 thousand somoni.
It is noted that all travel expenses must be paid exclusively in non-cash form through Orienbank.
As a committee representative clarified, the process of accepting documents for the 2026 Hajj has been completed. This year, in accordance with the requirements of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the process of accepting documents in participating countries began ahead of the previously established deadline.
Afshini Mukim also reported that the Committee on Religious Affairs announced a competition to select guides to accompany pilgrims.
The department explained that the established amount is intended for the purchase of air tickets, hotel rentals in Mecca and Medina, provision of three meals a day, payment for guide services, creation of conditions for pilgrimage to Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, and payment for the sacrifice.
In addition, the funds will be used to cover transportation costs, medical insurance, government fees, and provide pilgrims with appropriate religious literature.
The Committee on Religious Affairs also urged citizens to distrust advertisements from companies that claim to send people on the Hajj, noting that such organizations do not have the necessary authority. Sending citizens to perform the Hajj is carried out exclusively through authorized government agencies.
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and every Muslim is required to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime if they have the opportunity.
