Large-scale construction and improvement work continues in Khujand to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence. According to the press service of the Sughd regional administration, the city is being transformed, creating comfortable living and working conditions for residents, with projects spanning social, cultural, sports, and economic areas.
Sughd Region Governor Rajab Ahmadzoda visited several key sites. The highlight is the new building of the State Institution "Residence of the Head of State of the Republic of Tajikistan in Khujand." The building, designed in the national architectural style, consists of a basement and four floors, which house a museum, multi-purpose halls, a conference hall, a meeting room, a press room, a hotel, and auxiliary facilities. The project is being implemented by the Main Construction Department of Sughd Region in collaboration with the construction company Eurostroyservis. Its implementation is expected to boost tourism and improve the city's appearance.

New branded restaurants are being built on the banks of the Syr Darya River, including the expansion of the Forel restaurant. These projects are expected to create new jobs and support the development of the tourism industry.
In the sports sector, construction continues on the modern Sughd Arena complex, which will accommodate over 1,000 people simultaneously. Construction is also planned for a fully equipped sports field at the Sughd Region Higher Sports School.
Construction work is also underway in the economic sphere: a new building for the Sughd Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry and projects in the Sughd Free Economic Zone are aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and increasing industrial production.

In the legal and law enforcement sectors, new buildings are being constructed for the Sughd Regional Court and the Ministry of Internal Affairs office in Khujand, which should improve working conditions for employees.
The cultural sector is also receiving attention. Construction has begun on a 3,000-seat cultural center in the national architectural style, as well as the creation of a 2.4-hectare cultural and entertainment park named after Abulkasim Firdavsi, with half the area landscaped and the necessary infrastructure.
According to authorities, the construction of festive facilities in Khujand reflects the country's stability, unity, and harmony, as well as the government's focus on sustainable urban development and improving the quality of life.
