In 2025, MegaFon Tajikistan built over 170 new sites and commissioned over 450 4G/LTE base stations. This significantly expanded coverage and improved the quality of mobile internet throughout the country. The operator's achievements are confirmed by awards: according to an independent study by DMTEL, MegaFon Tajikistan took the leading position in voice and data quality.
Over the course of the year, the company's engineers installed and launched more than 450 fourth-generation base stations operating in the 800, 1800, 2300, and 2600 MHz bands. The use of multiple frequencies and the increased number of base stations ensured increased network capacity and stable access to high-speed mobile internet for subscribers in all regions of the country, both in cities and remote towns.
To ensure stable network operation in challenging climate conditions, 85 new diesel generator sets and solar panels have been installed at base stations. Additionally, over 600 batteries have been replaced at 232 base stations. These measures ensure subscribers receive communications and internet service even during power outages.
The operator is developing its own network of fiber-optic backbone communication lines (FOCL), enabling the transmission of large volumes of traffic between cities. In 2025, a comprehensive equipment replacement was completed on the Khuroson-Bokhtar-Kolkhozobod-Kumsangir-Pyanj-Farkhor-Khamadoni-Vose-Temurmalik-Dangara-Norak routes. As a result, the backbone's throughput capacity has increased tenfold, directly impacting the speed and stability of data transfer.
Similar work has been completed in Faizabad and Obigarm. Construction of the Jilikul-Kabodiyon-Shakhritus fiber-optic communication line is currently in the active phase. The new section will improve network reliability in the southern region, laying the foundation for further internet traffic growth. In Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), 17 radio relay spans have been modernized on the Vanj-Khorog section, increasing transport capacity to 2 Gbps. This has improved connection stability in mountainous areas.
In Dushanbe, nearly 50% of the network's transport rings have been upgraded, and their capacity has been increased tenfold. This ensures stable internet operation under high loads and creates the technological foundation for the implementation of new digital services and technologies, particularly 5G. In 2025, MegaFon Tajikistan will launch six new fifth-generation base stations, providing subscribers with access to gigabit data speeds.
The result of extensive network construction and modernization work is the operator's leadership in connection quality, awarded by DMTEL. Based on the results of an independent study conducted from May to August 2025 in Dushanbe, the RRS, GBAO, Sughd, and Khatlon regions, MegaFon Tajikistan took first place in a combination of voice and data quality indicators. The operator ranked first in the country for the percentage of successful voice connections (77.83%) and the lowest call drop rate (6.56%). MegaFon Tajikistan demonstrated the highest data transfer speeds – 9.66 Mbps downlink and 8.25 Mbps uplink. According to the study's initiators, 82.17% of the entire test route was provided with reliable 4G coverage by MegaFon Tajikistan.
"Our key goal is to provide all residents of the country with reliable communications services. To this end, we are consistently developing our telecommunications infrastructure and implementing the latest technologies. 2025 marks a significant milestone on this path: for hundreds of thousands of residents of Tajikistan, the digital future has become a reality," says Anatoly Izyumnikov, CEO of MegaFon Tajikistan, summing up the year.
