On December 18, 2025, the opening of the State Unitary Enterprise "Center for Digitalization, Innovation, and Personnel Development in Agriculture" took place in Dushanbe with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda, reports NIAT Khovar.
An exhibition of scientific developments and innovative achievements in the country's agricultural sector was held as part of the ceremony. The Prime Minister noted that the opening of the center marks the beginning of a new technological stage in the development of the agricultural sector. He stated that thanks to the forward-looking policies of President Emomali Rahmon, 2025–2030 have been declared the "Years of Digital Economy and Innovation Development" in the country, aiming to fully modernize the economy and ensure a decent standard of living for the population through the implementation of modern technologies.
"The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of the National Development Strategy to 2040, is actively promoting the digital economy, prioritizing the digitalization of public services, infrastructure development, the implementation of artificial intelligence, and national security. This process forms the legislative basis for the transition to e-government and the development of e-commerce using artificial intelligence. Without the development of agro-industrial technologies, it is impossible to ensure food security and improve the well-being of the population," emphasized Kokhir Rasulzoda.
The center was reportedly completely renovated and equipped with modern equipment as part of the World Bank-supported Agricultural Sustainability Project. The center will provide training on the use of modern technologies for agricultural specialists.
In his address to the Majlisi Oli on December 16, 2025, President Rahmon placed particular emphasis on expanding digitalization processes, developing the digital economy, and implementing artificial intelligence. He noted that, at Tajikistan's initiative, a special UN General Assembly resolution entitled "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Creating New Opportunities for Sustainable Development in Central Asia" was adopted.
Digital agriculture is seen as a tool for modernizing production processes, increasing production volumes, improving access to food resources, and ensuring food security. In Tajikistan, where agriculture is a key economic sector, digitalization is both a necessity and an opportunity to achieve sustainable development. The use of digital technologies enables precise agricultural monitoring, effective management, reduced losses, and a production chain that produces organic products according to international standards.
It is noted that the widespread adoption of digital technologies creates conditions for the effective operation of agricultural producers and contributes to the modernization of the country's agricultural sector, meeting the requirements of modern technological development.
