The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel-General of Police Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, met with Ms. Murodi Shirin, Chief Secretary of the Presidential Cup of the Republic of Tajikistan at the international chess tournament representing the Islamic Republic of Iran, the ministry's press service reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the importance of chess as one of the oldest and most popular intellectual games, promoting the development of mental abilities and strategic thinking. Participants noted that chess plays an important role in sports and education, fostering logical thinking and discipline.
It should be emphasized that the Minister of Internal Affairs, Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, is a candidate for master of sports in chess, which demonstrates his personal interest and deep understanding of this sport.
The meeting took place amid preparations for the international chess tournament for the President's Cup of the Republic of Tajikistan, which will be held from November 10 to 16, 2025, in Dushanbe. More than 200 athletes from 16 countries are participating in the tournament. Ms. Murodi Shirin is the tournament referee.
The parties emphasized that holding such international competitions helps strengthen friendly ties between countries, develop intellectual sports, and popularize chess among young people.
The meeting also served as a platform for exchanging experiences and discussing organizational issues of the tournament, aimed at ensuring a high level of competition and comfortable conditions for participants.
