On October 9, 2025, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the sidelines of the Central Asia-Russia Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the press service of the head of state reported.
The meeting discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and global agendas.
Emomali Rahmon emphasized that Tajikistan attaches great importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The parties expressed their readiness to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of energy, industry, and agriculture, including new "green" areas.
At the same time, the importance of creating joint ventures and increasing exports of industrial and agricultural products was noted.
Particular attention is paid to expanding cooperation in transport and communications.
The expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties, including the holding of Culture Days and other joint events, was recognized as important.
