President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Central Asia–Russia Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the presidential press service reported.
President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that, thanks to joint efforts and an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, all existing issues in bilateral relations were resolved.
It was considered necessary to implement the previously reached agreements.
Much attention was paid to the effective use of the capabilities of the Interstate Coordination Council and the Intergovernmental Council for the Realization of Trade and Economic Potential.
The need to expand cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized.
Close cooperation between countries within regional and international organizations was noted, as well as support for each other's initiatives in the international arena.
A fruitful exchange of views also took place on strengthening cooperation on issues of ensuring regional security and responding to security challenges and threats.
