In September of this year, Tajikistan conducted a nationwide preventative operation called "Seat Belt," during which officers from the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs identified 6,138 traffic violations. This was reported by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As the agency noted, the main goal of the operation was to increase road users' legal awareness, prevent road accidents, and ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. Particular attention was paid to compliance with legal requirements regarding mandatory seat belt use.
"According to current traffic regulations, drivers are required to fasten their seat belts before driving and are not allowed to move until the front passenger is also buckled. This is one of the fundamental requirements for safe driving," the State Traffic Inspectorate emphasized.
The State Traffic Inspectorate also reminded that the use of seat belts significantly reduces the risk of serious injury and death in road accidents.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an analysis of accident rates shows that the situation on the republic's roads remains alarming: a significant number of accidents are caused by drivers ignoring safety regulations. These accidents result in deaths and injuries to both drivers and passengers.
The agency emphasized that such preventative measures are carried out on an ongoing basis and are aimed at developing a culture of safe behavior on the roads among citizens.
