Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend the European Political Community (EPC) summit taking place Thursday in the Danish capital, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced.
The meeting, chaired by the Danish Prime Minister, is attended by heads of state and government from 47 European countries. Invitees include German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as well as leaders of the European Union and Eastern European countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova.
The summit's main agenda focuses on strengthening support for Ukraine, discussing European and regional security issues, including economic ones, and migration issues. The event also includes bilateral talks between participants.
Security measures have been stepped up in Denmark following reports of unidentified drones appearing near the country last week. The Bundeswehr is participating in the operation, including the German frigate Hamburg, equipped with an air defense system, which was deployed to Copenhagen.
The European Political Community was established in 2022 after the outbreak of full-scale conflict in Ukraine. It comprises 27 EU member states and another 20 states in the region.
