Central Asia's largest international technology forum, Digital Bridge 2025, has opened in the capital of Kazakhstan. The key topic is the role of artificial intelligence in the global economy, according to Akorda's press service.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as distinguished guests of the forum—Hungarian President Tamás Szujok, who is on an official visit to the country, and Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
Speaking at the plenary session, Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan is strengthening its status as a leading digital hub in Eurasia. "Today, Digital Bridge has become an important platform for advancing initiatives on the future of the digital economy and global transformation. Since its inception, the forum has attracted over 67,000 participants, over 500 IT companies, and delegations from 100 countries. Kazakhstan will continue this vital work in the future," he emphasized.
The President particularly noted the Hungarian leader's participation. "I highly appreciate the presence of His Excellency, Hungarian President Tamás Szujok. I am confident that your ideas will make a significant contribution to the development of international partnership in digital technology," Tokayev said.
The head of state emphasized that the modern world has entered a new era—the era of artificial intelligence. "This revolutionary technology is changing the economy, politics, and the lives of billions of people. According to experts, global investment in AI development has already exceeded $1 trillion, and its contribution to the global economy over the next decade could reach $7 trillion. Our task is to harness new technologies for the benefit of humanity, turning them into a key driver of progress and cooperation," the Kazakh president stated.
Speakers at the forum include Sinovation Ventures and 01ai CEO Lee Kai-fu, Stanford research fellow and Google expert Peter Norvig, G42 International CEO Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Stanford University professor Ilya Sterbulaev, and other leaders of the global hi-tech industry.
The Digital Bridge Forum, held annually in Astana, is the largest platform for discussing global trends in the digital economy, implementing advanced technologies, and strengthening international cooperation in innovation.
