In the capital of Tajikistan, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dushanbe Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 42-year-old Firdavs Azorabekov for engaging in illegal magical practices. This was reported by the city's Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.
During targeted investigations, it was established that Azorabekov had been engaged in fortune telling for a long time in his home and provided so-called "healing" services using locks and the making of talismans.
An administrative report was filed against him under Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan (practicing witchcraft and providing magical services) and sent to court. The court sentenced the man to 10 days of administrative arrest.
Furthermore, the investigation identified five individuals who had contacted Azorabekov for fortune-telling services. Administrative protocols were also filed against these individuals under Amendment 1 of Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that such measures are aimed at preventing crime and protecting citizens from illegal activities related to magical practices and charlatanism.
