Two thefts have been solved in the capital of Tajikistan and the city of Isfara, the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported.
The Sino District Department of Internal Affairs No. 2 in Dushanbe received a report from a 48-year-old Dushanbe resident that on September 10, 2025, her nephew, a 26-year-old local resident, secretly entered her apartment and stole $2,450 from her safe. The man fled the scene. A suspect was identified during an investigation.
Additionally, police detained a 26-year-old resident of Isfara on suspicion of theft. It was established that on September 2, 2025, at approximately 4:30 PM, she entered a women's clothing store owned by a 50-year-old resident of Isfara and stole an Honor 90-lite mobile phone worth 3,000 somoni. Law enforcement officers detained the woman, and a criminal case has been opened against her under Part 2 of Article 244 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The investigation is ongoing.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs calls on citizens to take precautions and, in the event of a crime, to immediately contact law enforcement agencies.
