Military contingents of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Tajikistan are heading to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the command and staff exercise of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Region (CRDF CAR) "Frontier-2025," the CSTO press service reported.
The maneuvers will take place at the Edelweiss training center and in the waters of Lake Issyk-Kul. According to the exercise plan, military personnel will practice preparing for and conducting combat operations by the CAR CRRF against illegal armed groups that have simulated an incursion into the territory of a CSTO member state.
Speaking at a briefing before the maneuvers, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, noted that the exercise is planned, is not directed against third countries, and is being conducted to improve the coherence of command and control bodies and troops, as well as to maintain the readiness of forces to carry out collective security tasks.
