On the morning of September 8, at the direction of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, a large shipment of humanitarian aid was sent to Afghanistan, which was devastated by a powerful earthquake. This was reported by the press service of the Tajik presidential administration.
According to the agency, the humanitarian aid is being delivered by a convoy of trucks and includes 24 types of products and essential materials. These include flour, oil, sugar, rice, bedding, clothing and footwear for children and adults, and tents. The shipment also includes construction materials such as rebar, lumber, slate, cement, and other essential goods.
The total volume of humanitarian aid sent amounts to more than 3 thousand tons.
The press service emphasized that this step is a clear manifestation of the solidarity and compassion of the people of Tajikistan for the fraternal people of Afghanistan, and also testifies to the humane and good-neighborly policies of Dushanbe and the leader of the nation, Emomali Rahmon.
As a reminder, on August 31 and September 1, a powerful earthquake struck Afghanistan, causing significant loss of life and destruction.
