On September 2, 2025, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan held a working meeting dedicated to combating corruption in the healthcare and social protection sectors, according to the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.
The event was initiated by the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan. Participants included management and senior staff from the central office of the Ministry of Health, state healthcare oversight services, sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, the State Agency for Social Protection of the Population, national centers, and health departments of GBAO, Khatlon and Sughd regions, and the city of Dushanbe.
During the meeting, Agency representatives presented reports on ways to combat corruption in healthcare, measures to prevent offenses among industry workers, the results of identifying corrupt acts, and the negative consequences of this phenomenon for the healthcare system. Participants were briefed on legislative requirements and state anti-corruption programs.
At the end of the event, participants were advised to adhere to the principles of honesty and service to the people when performing their official duties, refraining from corrupt practices and other violations of the law.
The organizers noted that the meeting was held in a constructive and anti-corruption atmosphere. Its results are expected to contribute to the development of a zero-tolerance attitude toward corruption in the healthcare sector and to increased legal awareness among industry workers.
