A cornerstone-laying ceremony for the construction of the National Flag Square of the Republic of Tajikistan took place in the village of Zarafshan-2, Ayni District, Sughd Region. The event was attended by Sughd Region Chairman Rajab Akhmadzoda, according to the regional administration's press service.
According to the project, the square will be built with the assistance of the subsidiary company "Fon-Yagnob Mine." The national flag of the Republic of Tajikistan will be raised to a height of 30 meters . The area is planned to be landscaped, including modern fountains, alleys, and benches.
According to Rajab Akhmadzoda, the construction of such facilities was made possible thanks to the tireless efforts of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. He emphasized that the atmosphere of peace and unity in the country creates the conditions for the implementation of large-scale creative projects in all regions of the republic.
"Every citizen should be grateful for this great blessing—peace and stability—and contribute to the continued improvement of the Motherland," the regional governor noted.
The administration recalled that in recent years, many cities and districts of the Sughd region have erected squares and avenues decorated with the national flag, which is a symbol of respect and veneration of national shrines.
