On Thursday, Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda inspected the progress of construction and infrastructure projects in the Khatlon region, according to the regional governor's press service.
In the Fakhrobod rural jamoat of the Khuroson district, the head of government visited the construction site of cold storage facilities for agricultural produce with a total capacity of 2,000 tons. The refrigeration complex, being built on the grounds of the Asadullo farm, is designed to accommodate 10 separate rooms, each with a capacity of 200 tons. The project cost 3.5 million somoni. Once the facility is operational, 40 local residents will receive permanent employment.
In the same district, the prime minister opened a brick factory owned by Samarai Khuroson Limited Liability Company. The facility occupies 5.6 hectares, 3 hectares of which are allocated for production facilities and drying areas. The factory is capable of producing up to 15,000 adobe bricks per day. 8.7 million somoni were allocated for construction and equipment purchase. The facility is expected to employ 25 people with salaries of up to 3,000 somoni.
In addition, the Rassvet-6 pumping station, designed to irrigate 1,000 hectares of land, was commissioned in the village of Sabzazor in the Khuroson district with the participation of the head of government. The $3.1 million project was launched in 2024.
Following the visit, Rasulzoda instructed those responsible to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the pumping station and the timely supply of irrigation water to the region's agricultural lands.
