As part of his official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was reported by the press service of the Tajik parliament.
At the beginning of the negotiations, Emomali conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Tokayev on behalf of the President of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon.
The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including political cooperation, trade and economic ties, cultural and humanitarian projects, and prospects for joint work in the water sector. The progressive development of interparliamentary dialogue between the two countries was noted.
Following the talks, an awards ceremony was held at the Ak Orda residence. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented Rustam Emomali with the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), 2nd Class, for his significant contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership and developing good-neighborly relations between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. 
The head of state emphasized that the Tajik politician's contribution to strengthening bilateral ties deserves high praise. In turn, Emomali expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for the honor and noted that the award is a symbol of the fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries.
