In the first half of 2025, Tajikistan recorded a decline in marriage and divorce rates, while birth and death rates increased. This was stated in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan's semi-annual activity report.
According to official data, 4,117 marriages were dissolved in the country in the first six months of this year, which is 291 cases less than in the same period in 2024 (4,408 divorces).
At the same time, the number of registered marriages also declined. During the period, 30,356 marriages were registered, 78 fewer than in the first half of last year (30,434).
Regarding demographic indicators, 117,932 babies were born in the republic from January to June of this year. This is 3,305 more than the same period in 2024, when 114,627 births were recorded.
The number of registered deaths during this period was 17,387, which is 609 cases more than the figure for the previous year (16,778 deaths).
The Ministry of Justice noted that the statistics are based on data from civil registry offices and are subject to further analysis as part of monitoring social processes in the country.
