Over the past two days, rescuers have prevented the deaths of four people in the country's waterways, according to the press service of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
On August 4, 2025, at approximately 2:20 PM, members of the task force of the Main Directorate of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Sughd Region rescued two 19-year-old residents of the Gulkhon jamoat in the Jabborrasulov district—Nasrullah Nasrov and Shokhjakhon Valiev. The young men had begun to drown in the Syr Darya River because they did not know how to swim. Thanks to the professionalism of the rescuers, a tragedy was averted.
That same day, two minors—14-year-old Bakhtovar Abdulloev and 12-year-old Anakhita Abdulloeva, residents of Dushanbe—also needed help. While swimming in the Bakhri Tojik reservoir, near the Sohil recreation area, the children began to drown, but emergency services arrived promptly and rescued them.
The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan urges parents not to leave children unattended near water. This is especially true for children who cannot swim, as the consequences can be irreversible.
Unfortunately, tragedy was not avoided in all cases. On August 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM, Sukhrobiddin Bobojonov, born in 1995, a resident of the village of Pistazor, Esamboy Jamoat, Rudaki District, drowned in the Kofarnikhon River. Following a search and rescue operation, his body was discovered on August 4 at 5:30 PM, eight kilometers downstream, and handed over to his relatives in the presence of law enforcement officers.
The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan reminds you: water requires special care. Observe the rules of conduct on the water and protect your life.
