Authorities in Bokhtar, Khatlon Region, Tajikistan, have begun implementing a project to create a new industrial zone. This was announced by Mayor Abdulmajid Muminzod during a press conference.
According to him, the new zone will be located on an area of 13 hectares. The initiative has already received official approval from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the necessary approvals from relevant ministries and agencies.
"In the city's existing industrial zone, thanks to the opening of new production facilities, there are no more vacant sites left. Therefore, creating a new site is a priority for us," the mayor noted.
Currently, the private sector has already presented five investment projects aimed at constructing industrial facilities on the future territory.
Following the official establishment of the zone, city authorities plan to begin allocating land for these projects.
As Abdulmadzhid Muminzod emphasized, the implementation of this initiative will be an important step toward developing industrial potential, creating jobs, and expanding domestic production.
It was previously reported that construction had begun on three new production facilities in the Sughd region, including a metallurgical plant for processing copper, lead, and silver, as well as two limestone processing plants.
