On July 30, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Araghchi in Dushanbe. As reported by the press service of the head of state, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of Tajik-Iranian relations, including in the context of the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level. The main focus was on issues of trade and economic cooperation.
Mutual interest in expanding partnership in such areas as energy, industry, international transport, agriculture, science and technology, tourism, healthcare and culture was noted.
An exchange of views also took place on current issues on the international and regional agenda, including security and sustainable development.
During the talks, the importance of further strengthening friendship and good-neighborliness between Tajikistan and Iran was emphasized.
