In the Kulyab region, over 7 million somoni have been allocated for the maintenance and repair of roads in the first half of 2025. This was reported by the head of the State Institution "Department of Roads of the Kulyab Region" Yokub Kurbonzoda at a press conference held in Bokhtar.
According to him, the institution is responsible for 2,453.9 km of roads, including 318 km of international roads, 427.6 km of national roads and 1,708.2 km of local roads.
Road works were financed in accordance with the approved plan. 1,388,750 somoni were planned for current road maintenance works by 11 city and district road enterprises, of which 1,333,770 somoni were spent. The budget for current road network maintenance in the amount of 5,370,300 somoni was fully implemented. In addition, unplanned expenses amounted to 271,260 somoni.
Initially, 333,220 somoni were allocated for major road repairs, but due to increased needs, the funding was increased to 475,100 somoni. Of this amount, 405,980 somoni were allocated by local executive bodies of state power, and 646,850 somoni came from centralized sources.
Kurbonzoda noted that the bulk of repair work traditionally falls on the summer season. He emphasized that the institution has mobilized all resources to complete scheduled work and timely prepare the road infrastructure for the autumn-winter period.
