The gross regional product (GRP) of Dushanbe for January-June 2025 amounted to 16.6 billion somoni, which is 24.5% of the total gross domestic product (GDP) of Tajikistan. According to the capital's mayor's office, real growth compared to the same period in 2024 reached 108.1%.
The growth of economic indicators is ensured by the efficient use of production potential, the development of competitive, import-substituting and export-oriented production.
The industrial sector of the capital has seen growth in all key areas. Thus, the volume of production in the mining industry amounted to 50.3 million somoni (an increase of 31.3%), in the processing industry – 1.9 billion somoni (an increase of 21.1%). In the segment of electricity, gas, steam and air purification, products were produced for the amount of 1.2 billion somoni (an increase of 30.2%), in the sphere of water supply, sewerage and waste processing – 53.2 million somoni (an increase of 37%).
Over the first six months of this year, more than 756 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in the capital. The Dushanbe branch of JSC "Electricity Distribution Networks" received 2.3 billion kilowatt-hours, which is 260 million kilowatt-hours more than in the same period last year.
The introduction of an automated metering system has significantly reduced electricity losses – from 27% to 7%. The level of collection of electricity fees has reached 99%, the capital's administration noted.
The volume of thermal energy production amounted to 812.4 thousand gigacalories, which is 4% higher than the figure for the same period last year.
In the construction sector, work has been completed at 10 sites, and design and survey activities have been carried out at 18 sites. The total amount of funds spent was 179 million somoni, or 102% of the planned amount. The implementation of construction projects continues.
