On July 11, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the Khalifa Hasan jamoat of Penjikent to get acquainted with the activities of the Mogiyon-Agro greenhouse, the press service of the head of state reported.
The greenhouse was built by entrepreneur Murodkul Yusufov based on the recommendations and support of the Head of State. In terms of sowing methods, agricultural technology, obtaining high yields and saturation of the consumer market, it is an example of efficient land use.
The greenhouse area is one hectare. Tomatoes, bell peppers, strawberries, lemons, cauliflower, cucumbers and other vegetable crops are grown in it in a modern way.
The technological lines were developed in South Korea and manufactured in China. Irrigation is carried out by drip method, which allows to reduce the consumption of irrigation water by 3-4 times compared to traditional methods.
Agrotechnical work on growing vegetables is carried out by 23 local residents in accordance with established standards. The production of up to 50 tons of products per year indicates the high professionalism of agricultural workers.
Emomali Rahmon highly praised the entrepreneur’s creative efforts and gave recommendations on increasing production volumes, creating additional jobs and providing the consumer market with environmentally friendly vegetables.

Farmers, expressing satisfaction with state support and benefits provided, presented Emomali Rahmon with samples of the best agricultural crops, including grains, melons, vegetables and fruits.
The area of agricultural land in the city of Penjikent is 11 thousand hectares. Due to favorable natural and climatic conditions and efficient use of resources, agricultural farms receive abundant harvests every year.
The total volume of agricultural production for the first five months of 2025 amounted to about 120 million somoni, which is 16.1% more than the same period last year.
In the city of Penjikent, special attention is paid to the development of greenhouse farming and year-round provision of the population with vegetables.
With the construction of 85 new greenhouses in 2024, their total number in Penjikent was increased to 110.
Providing the food market is directly related to the activities of refrigerated warehouses. The city's 27 refrigerators have the capacity to store 5,386 tons of fruits and vegetables.
The area of gardens and vineyards is 3439 hectares, and this figure continues to grow. 19 pumping stations are actively used to expand garden lands and develop agriculture in general.
