On June 28, Dushanbe will host the festive international concert "Sadoi Vaḥdat," dedicated to Tajikistan's National Unity Day. The event is organized by the Sadriddin Aini State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
According to the organizers, the project follows the recent presentation of a Steinway & Sons concert grand piano donated to the theater by the Russian Piano School. The instrument's arrival has opened up new opportunities for the development of national performing arts and the training of young musicians.
The concert will be opened by 17-year-old Tajik pianist Samir Abdurazakov. Accompanied by a combined symphony orchestra, he will perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto. According to the organizers, this will be the first time this work has been performed on the theater stage. Conducting will be Venezuelan maestro Hobart Earle, who will travel to Tajikistan specifically for the concert.
In the second half, the audience will enjoy a solo program featuring renowned pianists from various countries.
One of the evening's central events will be a performance by Russian pianist Daniil Kharitonov, a laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and a musician who has performed at leading concert venues around the world.
Armenian pianist Ruben Kozin will also take the stage to perform Sergei Prokofiev's Seventh Sonata, one of the composer's most famous works.
Tajikistan will be represented at the concert by Behruz Saifiddinov, head of the special piano department at the Tajik National Conservatory named after T. Sattorov and a member of a renowned musical dynasty.
Organizers note that the concert will bring together world-class musicians on one stage and will become one of the main cultural events marking National Unity Day.
The concert starts at 17:00.
Tickets cost 50 somoni. They can be purchased at the theater box office by calling 221-62-91 or online at Echipta.tj.
