On June 3, a regular meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held at the Patriot Central Park of the Russian Ministry of Defense, chaired by Russia. The event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Andrei Serdyukov, as well as the defense ministers of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the Russian Federation, according to the CSTO press service.

The meeting began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Mothers of the Victors monument.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on strengthening military security in the CSTO's area of responsibility and discussed current challenges and threats in the region.
Chairman of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced that, at the initiative of the Russian side, draft decisions have been prepared aimed at improving the Organization's forces and joint personnel training. He stated that, amid global uncertainty and tension, their implementation will deepen cooperation between CSTO member states.
CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov noted that an analysis of the military-political situation indicates a growing number of challenges and threats to the military security of the organization's member states in Eurasia. Among the main risk factors, he cited the buildup of NATO countries' military potential in Europe, armed conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, the development of conflict potential in Afghanistan, and the increased activity of international terrorist and extremist organizations.
On the sidelines of the meeting, a number of bilateral meetings took place between the participants.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were adopted, including draft decisions of the CSTO Collective Security Council on the procedure for forming mobile air defense units to cover the organization's collective forces during joint operations, as well as on the development of the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces.
In addition, the defense ministers approved decisions to introduce new specialties into the military training system of the organization's member states and approved the Plan for joint training of command and control bodies and formations of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system for 2027.
