On May 12, Tajikistan's Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment, Soleh Kholmahmadzoda, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan, Jeong Sung-shik. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the ministry thanked the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for their joint work, in particular for their participation in the construction of the Korean Language and Vocational Skills Development Center.
The Ministry emphasized that it views the Republic of Korea as an important and reliable partner in advancing priorities in labor, migration, and labor market development. It also reaffirmed its commitment to further expanding cooperation within the EPS work permit system.

The parties separately stated their intention to intensify cooperation in the area of creating opportunities for Tajik citizens to study the Korean language.
To achieve practical results, particularly in terms of attracting Tajik labor for seasonal work in Korea, the meeting participants considered a number of proposals. Specifically, they discussed attracting highly qualified teachers from the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan to conduct language courses, as well as establishing ties with Korean employers' associations.
During the subsequent discussion, the parties also exchanged views on labor market development and improving the migration management system. Particular attention was paid to measures to prevent and combat illegal migration and other forms of irregular migration.
