Chinese President Xi Jinping called on Chinese youth to align their personal aspirations with the country's overall development situation.

Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the call in a response letter to youth recipients of the May Fourth and Youth Pioneer in the New Era medals ahead of China's Youth Day, which is celebrated on May 4.
