The first crematorium in Kazakhstan, designed for 16 procedures per day, has opened in Almaty.
Cremation is performed in specialized ovens at temperatures up to 1100 degrees Celsius, ensuring the body is almost completely reduced to dust. The service costs 240,000 tenge.
According to current regulations, after the procedure, ashes are subject to burial only—their scattering is prohibited in the country. Construction of a columbarium is planned for the complex in the future.
Cremation is only possible with the written consent of the deceased, obtained during their lifetime. These requirements also apply to foreign citizens who can use the service in Almaty.
It is noted that the facility is the first in Central Asia, making the city a regional center in this area.
