The Dushanbe City Classic Chess Championship for men and women, one of the year's key tournaments, has concluded. It brought together the capital's strongest chess players. The press service of the Tajikistan Chess Federation reported this.
Throughout the nine rounds, the participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, strategic thinking, and athletic endurance. The tournament was tense and competitive: games often lasted for several hours, with the outcome decided by the most subtle positional nuances.
It is noted that this year, along with experienced players, young chess players have shown their best.

In the men's tournament, Kubod Maksudshoev won confidently, demonstrating consistent and mature play throughout the competition. Second place went to former city champion Akhmad Avzalzoda, who demonstrated a high level of skill. The tournament's biggest sensation was the performance of 14-year-old Bogdan Voskolovich: not only did he finish in the top three, but he also demonstrated confident play against more experienced opponents.
The women's tournament was also a close contest. Shukrona Maskhabova emerged victorious, showing the most consistent results. Esamin Khodjaeva took second place, and Shokhsanam Dzhumaeva took third, firmly cementing her place among the top three.

Following the championship, the list of participants who will represent Dushanbe at the Tajikistan Republic Championship was determined. It included not only the prize winners but also the chess players who placed fourth and fifth, Bekhruz Djuraev and Timur Ismailov, who demonstrated a high level of play.
The recent tournament confirmed the active development of chess in the capital: competition is growing, new names are emerging, and young players are confidently asserting themselves. The republican stage is coming up, where Moscow players will strive to represent the city with dignity.
