In 2025, Tajikistan's international airports handled a total of 2,963,000 passengers, a decrease of 399,000 passengers, or 12 percent, compared to 2024, according to the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan.
During the reporting period, the country's international airports operated 11,567 flights, which is 170 flights less than last year.
The total volume of cargo and mail received and transported by the Dushanbe International Airport cargo terminal in 2025 amounted to 2,394 tons. Of this volume, 346 tons were export cargo, and 2,048 tons were import cargo. Compared to 2024, the total cargo volume decreased by 233 tons.
The decline in passenger traffic and flights, as well as the reduction in cargo volumes, are due to a number of factors, including fluctuations in international air traffic and changes in demand for transportation. Despite the decline compared to the previous year, the country's airports continue to operate scheduled flights, provide passenger services, and transport cargo in accordance with international standards.
The Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan notes that maintaining flight safety, high-quality passenger and cargo service remains a priority, and work is underway to improve infrastructure and expand the capacity of international airports to support the industry's continued growth.
