During a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman assured that Riyadh will not allow its territory or airspace to be used for attacks on Tehran. This was reported in an official statement by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the department, the crown prince "reaffirmed the kingdom's position on respecting the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran and stated that Saudi Arabia will not allow its airspace or territory to be used for any military action against Iran."
Earlier, the Iranian presidential office reported on Pezeshkian and bin Salman's conversation. The Iranian statement noted that the president emphasized the country's authorities' readiness to support any peace process. Furthermore, Pezeshkian accused the US and Israel of exerting economic pressure on Iran, fueling the war last June, and supporting recent protests in the country.
As a reminder, an armada of US ships is currently moving toward the shores of Iran, which is increasing tensions in the region and drawing international attention to the situation in the Middle East.
